AN/SPA-25G Radar Console

In a program to replace older style stroke displays for many different types of shipboard radars, the Navy developed the AN/SPA-25G console. Using the Radar Display and Distribution system (RADDS), the AN/SPA-25G can display data from any radar on the ship, by operator switch control. The AN/SPA-25G performs data display and data management by means of software on a single-board computer inside. This board controls the display screen, handles scale changes and offsets, and performs symbol tracking under operator control.

For many years, Daniel H. Wagner Associates maintained all the software in the AN/SPA-25G and developed interfaces for external computer status panels, data interchange with the ACDS Tactical Data system, and sharing of plot symbols among a network of consoles.

Wagner Associates also developed a full set of tactical decision aid software for a second single board computer, originally designed as a master console for tactical officers on Navy ships.
