FalconView

FalconView is the OLE automation server that provides mapping functionality to the Portable Flight Planning Software (PFPS). FalconView provides a graphical interface for drawing routes and objects over NIMA charts, imagery, and DTED. The FalconView Software Development Kit (SDK) implements the Microsoft Component Object Model (COM) to dispatch messages between FalconView and its clients. This client/server architecture is used extensively within PFPS to provide object-oriented communication between independent components, including FalconView, the Combat Flight Planning System (CFPS), the RouteServer, and various tools for developing mission plans for Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.
