Main Menu

The main menubar provides access to route editing, METOC products, and user preferences.

Menus

• File Menu
  • File->Open allows you to open a saved route. The program will prompt you to save the current route before closing it.
  • File->Save allows you to save the current route to file.
  • File->JSOW Preferences pops up the Preferences screen for you to choose how METOC products and data are represented in the MPM.
  • File->Metplan Preferences pops up Metplan's Preferences screen for you to configure Metplan's data management tasks.
  • File->Exit closes the MPM. FalconView must be closed separately.
• Route Menu
  • Route->Edit pops up the Route Editor for modifying the properties of the current route.
  • Route->Vertical Profile pops up the Vertical Profile screen to show the missile's relationship to the ground (and other factors) along its flight path.
• Weather Menu
  • Weather->Time Chart shows the missile's projected effectiveness over time. This is currently unavailable.
  • Weather->View Products offers horizontal weather depictions, wind streamlines, and other METOC products built from the available data. These products can also be viewed by clicking on their buttons on the Toolbar (see below).
  • Weather->METOC Chat allows you to chat with the METOC community anywhere on the network.

Toolbar

The Toolbar provides access to METOC products (HWDs, Wind Streamlines, etc.). The route is overlayed on each product, and for each product that covers enough area, a box is drawn to represent the current view on FalconView. Clicking on the active buttons below will display an example of each type of product that is currently supported.
